Bakuman Complete Box Set: Volumes 1-20

Bakuman Complete Box Set: Volumes 1-20

The Bakuman complete box set holds all 20 volumes of the manga by writer Tsugumi Ohba and artist Takeshi Obata, the pair who created Death Note. It is a series about making manga, told as manga.

It suits readers curious about how comics get made, and anyone who enjoys a long story about friends chasing a hard goal. With every volume included, you can read it start to finish.

Two friends, one dream

Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi want to create the next big manga hit. One draws and one writes, and together they enter the crowded, competitive world of manga publishing. The series follows them through deadlines, setbacks and wins as they work their way up the industry.

A look behind the page

Much of the appeal is seeing the creative process up close: pitching ideas, meeting deadlines and dealing with rivals. Fans of Death Note will recognize the writer and artist team, here turned to a very different kind of story.

What is in the set

• Bakuman, Volumes 1 to 20, the complete series
• Story by Tsugumi Ohba
• Art by Takeshi Obata

Who will enjoy Bakuman

Readers who draw or write their own stories often enjoy Bakuman most, because it shows the work behind a finished series: ideas that fail, editors to win over and deadlines that never stop. Fans of Death Note may want to see what Ohba and Obata do with a story that has no supernatural notebook. Collectors get the complete 20-volume run in a single box.
