Description
Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks is a practical, results-driven guide for academics who need to publish in peer-reviewed journals but struggle with where to start, how to revise, or how to stay consistent. Wendy Laura Belcher, an experienced scholar and writing coach, breaks the complex process of journal article writing into a clear, structured twelve-week plan designed to fit real academic schedules.
Rather than focusing on abstract advice, the book functions as a hands-on workbook. Each week introduces a core element of successful journal articles—such as argument structure, literature review positioning, methodology framing, and revision strategies—and pairs it with specific daily tasks. This approach helps writers move steadily from draft to submission without becoming overwhelmed.
The second edition expands its reach to a broader range of disciplines and academic career stages. It includes a new chapter for scholars starting without an existing draft, making it especially valuable for graduate students and early-career researchers. Updated exercises, checklists, and templates reflect current research on academic productivity and writing habits.
Throughout the book, Belcher addresses common barriers to publication, including perfectionism, time constraints, unclear feedback, and uncertainty about journal expectations. The focus is not only on writing clearly, but on writing strategically—aligning articles with journal audiences, responding effectively to reviewer comments, and understanding the norms of scholarly publishing.
Widely used in graduate programs and faculty writing groups, Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks provides a realistic, supportive framework that helps scholars develop sustainable writing practices and complete journal articles with confidence.

I am 6 feet tall and 220 lbs. This shirt fit me perfectly in the chest and shoulders. My only complaint is that it is so long! I like to wear polo shirts untucked. This shirt goes completely past my rear end. If I wore it with ordinary shorts, you probably wouldnt be able to see the shorts at all – completely hidden by the shirt. It needs to be 4 to 5 inches shorter in terms of length to suit me. I have many RL polo shirts, and this one is by far the longest. I dont understand why.

The shirt was not the fabric I believed it to be. It says Classic Fit but was made like the older versions, not the soft cotton like my others. I don’t understand how the labels are the same but a completely different shirt. Oh well, stuck with it now.
